This text comes from the PPD driver file, can you check if it has valid unicode? Does the text looks right at http://localhost:631 ? http://localhost:631 also shows the umlaut incorrectly. I found a file /etc/cups/ppd/Kyocera_ECOSYS_P3045dn.ppd The Editor open this file as UTF-8 and the "ä" is shown correct. It is the only umlaut in that file. The ppd does not start with a BOM. Thank you for the bug report, and I'm sorry we weren't able to resolve it. A lot has changed since it was reported; can I ask you to see if this is still an issue with Plasma 6.4 or later? Thanks a lot! The problem is no longer observed with Plasma 5.27.12 |
