Agh, I neglected to fill the other form information.
Essentially, the steps are
1) Open multiple applications until the listed applications in the panel are resizing
2) Close an application so they resize.
It doesn't appear to happen consistently and I haven't noticed a pattern other than I think the panel items resize maybe, requiring a re-draw.
Basically that Incorrect/Before image should show the VSCode application and not the Google Chrome browser page.
Hovering over the panel item shows the preview of the correct application.
Argh, one more thing... The panel item redraws correctly when almost any action is taken like bringing the application to the foreground or opening/closing any other application. I'm not sure if bringing on of the other applications to the foreground also redraws it. A lot has changed since this bug was filed. Is it still reproducible for you in Plasma 5.24 (the latest LTS version) or 5.25 (the latest version, period)? STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.56.0 Qt Version: 5.12.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Specifically it would only be one item and I think it may only even be the first position application item listed, whatever the application is. I'll include 2 image attachments showing the Before/Incorrect display which shows the incorrectly drawn Visual Studio Code application showing as the Google Chrome browser page (which is also right next to it).
