Does the same thing happen if you use the KRunner search that's available via alt+space? Yes it does Changing status. This affects Ubuntu and Mint as well. I guess we'll have to figure out which runner is causing this. If anyone can still reproduce it, please try disabling all runners in System Settings > Search > KRunner and then re-enable them one at a time and perform searches. Once Plasma hangs, the last-enabled runner will be the thing causing this. Can someone do that and report which runner is the culprit? Thanks! (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #5) Linux Mint 20 64-bit, fresh install. KDE packages listed at bottom. I was having the krunner stall-upon-first-search as well. Per your direction, I unselected ALL KRunner plugins. I also have the "File Search" disabled. I rebooted, and I continue to see this error. (Yeah.. I know that makes it even more clear now!) > I guess we'll have to figure out which runner is causing this. > > If anyone can still reproduce it, please try disabling all runners in System > Settings > Search > KRunner and then re-enable them one at a time and > perform searches. I know that KDE Plasma isn't officially supported on Mint anymore, and those packages appear to be quite old. I'm also not sure you've got everything you need installed. Ideally I would like a reply from Jan Janacek too. Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days.
