Description manliodp 2019-01-17 13:22:44 UTC
Desktop Icons get messy after Show desktop widget is active and Create New Folder on Desktop is executed.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. You need to be in Folder View mode
2. Assure you have some icons on the desktop
3. Open some apps
4. Activate Show Desktop so that the desktop is shown
5. Right Click anywhere on the desktop and create a New Folder while show desktop widget is still active

OBSERVED RESULT
Some icons seems moved from their initial positions, as they appear near the new created folder but they're not clickable as they're still in the initial position but invisible

EXPECTED RESULT
New folder is created and other icons rendering/position is not affected

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Tested on KDE NEON Dev-Stable with both INTEL and NVIDIA drivers

cannot reproduce on Arch Linux.
"Show desktop" effect is undone when I execute step 5 and all icons remain in their original position when I confirn the new folder creation.

Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.90
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.54.0
Qt Version: 5.12.0

Screenshot after issue occurred

I've attached a screenshot of the issue.
This really seems to appear randomly and under certain conditions that I can't determine.

Thanks

Try this with whatever distro live version, the bug seems to occur sistematically (just tried with Manjaro KDE).

Thanks

I can't reproduce this on git master.
Comment 5 Nate Graham 2019-02-06 01:13:46 UTC
Me neither. Can you upgrade your system and test this again? A bunch of nice Folder View fixes just landed on the stable branches.

I've tried with updated Plasma 5.14.5 and now it seems I'm not able to reproduce the issue anymore.

Thanks
