Description peter josvai 2019-01-16 22:46:47 UTC
SUMMARY

it is clear that the same file name can happen twice or more times in the same project, however, when two files have the same path, they should be treated as the same thing, one thing, not two... (at least I think so, I'm only 90% sure)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. import 1 video file from a folder...
2. import all 5 video files from that folder
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
there are 6 clips in the project bin..
of the video file, clip, there will be 2 instances...
clip and clip[1]

EXPECTED RESULT
there should be 5 clips in the project bin...
it would be nice to get a message "clip" has been added to your project already

Thanks for your report! A warning would be a good idea in my opinion.

I tested this with the latest version 22.08 and there is a warning now if you are about to add a clip the second time asking if you want to import it again as duplicate.
