Sentry Crash Report:

Description woodshop 2019-01-08 15:56:40 UTC
SUMMARY
When trying to reopen files, Krita says the "file does not exist". This only happens on files saved by Krita in network directories. The files can be found in the open file dialog but cannot be opened. Opening from Windows explorer shows splash screen, but still gives the same error.

Krita will not open any file it has saved on the network in the last day. Krita will open files that it has never saved. Even re-saving in another program with a different file name results in the file not opening. Other image programs open the file with no issue.

Files saved (by Krita) prior to yesterday seem to be able to be opened. Files saved (by Krita) on local drive can be opened. Having suffered a local drive crash a few months ago, I prefer not to use local directories or have to implement regular backup of local directory.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Try to open file saved by Krita within the last day.
2. Tested .png, .jpeg, .kra all have same result

OBSERVED RESULT
Lists file path and states "does not exist"

EXPECTED RESULT

opening the file regardless of file location.

UPDATE:

Tried re-installing with no success. Finally went into settings and reset defaults. The program was then able to open files normally. Nothing in settings was intentionally changed, but it could have been altered by mistake. I remember the settings dialog opening by mistake, but it was immediately closed. It is possible a hotkey was pressed which changed something.

If someone knows what setting would cause this issue, it would be helpful to post since resetting defaults may be a daunting task for someone with a lot of custom settings.

Hi, can you check if the file can be opened with Krita 4.2 ('krita next' on the downloads page)

We have had a few saving issues, amongst which one caused by Krita being too polite to drive syncing systems.

Files open normally now. The issue turned out to be an IT problem. Cloud Disk space was restricted and I was running out of space. Cleared out duplicate files and freed up space and the problem immediately resolved.
