SUMMARY
When using windows client with pictures in a network share the thumbnails for the faces are not available.


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Fresh Windows Client Install of 6.0.0 beta3
2. Edit AlbumRoot as Network Share UNC path (//192.168.178/100/Pictures/Test/) 
3. Select DB SQLlite or MYSQL
4. After initial scan, run the face recognition. 

OBSERVED RESULT
Faces are recognized but thumbnails are not generated. I checked the MYSQL DB. No dataset is inserted in the table CustomIdentifiers. GUI shows the thumbnail of the whole picture. These thumbnails are available and stored in the FilePaths table.

EXPECTED RESULT
Thumbnails are available for the recognized faces.

DigiKam does not support a network path. The network collection must be mounted locally or connected to a drive letter.

I think this is related...

I switched from local to network share and after a rescan the People face thumbnails were zoomed out and some were rotated 90 deg.
