SUMMARY
since 28th december 2018 ICQ announced that 3rd party clients wont be able to connect - BUT
pidgin and other 3rd party clients still manage to connect

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. install kopete
2. create an icq-account
3. try to log in

please fix this - it just can be about 3 lines of code 

OBSERVED RESULT
russians blocked kopete (Connection refused)

EXPECTED RESULT
kopete connects no matter what the russians say

also please fix XMPP support it is not in a usable state in KOPETE and neither in telepathy

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
