Sorry, but there is a misinterpretation on your side. "Enter next transaction" is used to enter the next instance of a scheduled transaction. How's this to be used: 1. set shortcut 2. select 'Scheduled transactions' view 3. select a schedule 4. Press shortcut Observed result: Dialog to enter next scheduled transaction is shown Hallo. Thanks for the clarification! I seems that the action I need instead is "New" (Ctrl+Ins). However it only works in the Transactions tab. Is it possible to create a application-wide shortcut for this that would also work from the Summary tab? I suppose you could create a wish-list bug (or change this one) to request a new action or to modify the "New" action to work even when the ledger is not currently displayed. I suppose it would just be a combination of switching to the Ledger View and then invoking the new transaction action.
