Agreed: some type of animation would be nice needed here. I'm ambivalent about the proposal for a fade, though. Maybe a swipe? *** Bug 401957 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** There are animations present when I've tested this, but they're not universal. Clicking on categories in the sidebar that have *no* subcategories show no animations, for example clicking back-and-forth between 'all applications', 'accessibility' and 'education'. This also applies to clicking back-and-forth between 'home', 'installed', updates', settings' and 'about' Clicking on, for example, 'games', 'graphics' or 'internet' shows animations in the sidebar when transitioning from a category to the list of subcategories. Clicking 'back' then animates the sidebar back to the main category. Clicking on an app (regardless of the page) shows an animation into the selected applications info page, and then clicking 'back' shows an animation back to the list.
