Position where to place that button

When you want to create a rule for some window to appear on a specified screen, you do not know which screen has which number.
It would be good to add a "Identify outputs" button near Screen rule (see attached image or linked video).

This button can be found in Monitor settings, but I have noticed that it just shows screen names, but not numbers. So we need to fix that as well.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.52.0
Qt Version: 5.11.2

KWin orders screens from left to right. There's no need for such a functionality.

No, in my case they are not enumerated from left to right.
Comment 3 Christoph Feck 2018-12-05 22:13:17 UTC
But if you drag a window across screens, is the order correct? I.e. a window dragged to the left screen should appear at the left screen.

Yes. Monitors configuration corresponds their physical locations.
Comment 5 Martin Flöser 2018-12-06 05:30:50 UTC
Instead of numbering the rule should show the connector names.
Comment 6 ratijas 2023-07-05 11:12:33 UTC
We have Identify button in KScreen KCM, but it does not show output numbers. In fact, outputs are never numbered in UI, except for the new concept of priorities which replaces the legacy concept of having a single primary output.
