Since the preview pane is now on the right of Dolphin can you please update and confirm if this is still an issue. I tried but couldn't replicate. >Since the preview pane is now on the right of Dolphin
I didn't find any option to display a preview inside a pane (left or right). Dolphin just shows preview instead of the file symbol.
In that case yes, if the preview option inside a pane was removed completely, this issue would be irrelevant.
The Information panel (F11) has a preview option for files. If the preview option (top) isn't showing right click the panel and enable it. Created attachment 132810 [details]

Compare attached screens (especially places & preview pane height). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use the complete sidebar hight (e.g. show places, folders & preview pane) 2. Resize the preview pane hight as small as possible 3. Lock sidebar 4. Preview some videos (mouse over video thumbs) OBSERVED RESULT Sidebar pane heights change. EXPECTED RESULT Sidebar is locked & keeps the size of the panes.
