Same issue. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: Arch Linux (fully updated 2019-01-14) Gnome + kdeconnect-indicator addon KDEConnect for android from Fdroid Android: LineageOS 15.1 (Android 8.1) Same issue. Linux: Arch Linux XFCE4 + kdeconnect-indicator KDEConnect Google Play 1.10 Android: OxygenOS (Android 9.0) Hi, I've done a bit more debugging with this on Fedora 29 with: XFCE kdeconnectd-1.3.3-1.fc29.x86_64 indicator-kdeconnect-0.9.0-25.1.x86_64 Android version 9 KDEConect version 1.10.1 If I start with a fresh rebooted laptop and phone then I get a single SMS message. However, every time the phone reconnects with the laptop, the number of SMS notifications increases! So the 3rd time it reconnects I get 4 SMS notifications; the 5th reconnect and I get 6, etc. I have not, yet, been able to get a debug log from Android, but this behavior makes KDEConnect almost unusable after any reasonable usage. I'll note that suspending the laptop does not reset this counter. It's unclear to me if the counter is in the phone or the laptop, or some live synchronization that is kept alive in both systems simultaneously. However, this behavior is 100% reproducible here. Have the developers been able to reproduce this, yet? For the record, I force-killed the Android app, waited a few minutes, and then restarted the app -- and it reset the counter. So it is, most likely, purely a problem on the Android side. I suspect if I turn off Wifi, wait a few minutes, then turn it back on again then I will start getting 2 notifications.. Then three. (I will try this shortly when I'm off a conference call) Running on PC with Arch using Xfce 4.12. Each incident seems to add 4 extra pop-ups, now at ~32 alerts per SMS. Do not see way to dismiss alerts beyond clicking on each one. Reboots of PC have not changed accumulation amounts. (In reply to jwala from comment #5) > Running on PC with Arch using Xfce 4.12. Like I said in comment #4, if you force-kill the KDE App on your Android phone and then restart it, it should reset the counter again. I mentioned the PC reboot to confirm that the problem seems to stem from the Android side. However I cannot confirm that a restart of the app resets the popup counter. When I go into settings and click and confirm to "force stop" for KDE Connect, the app continues to run. Android 8.0.0, KDE Connect 1.12.6.

The problem killing the app was a screen update issue on my Motorola. Killing did reduce the number of notifications to 8 at first, but it then resumed with 64 for the most recent text alert. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 361525 *** |
