plasma 5.17 - header of the previous kcm disappears when a setting is modified |
plasma 5.15 beta has the same bug on Arch Linux. Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.54.0 Qt Version: 5.12.0 *** Bug 404397 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Hey I get this problem even without having opened a KCM beforehand - if I open up Desktop Behavior (in Icon View!) then close it and open it up again - every time I open it up again (regardless of navigating to a different subsection) I get a random heading. (It always seems to start out with Activities help you to etc. though - I don't know if that's relevant) *** Bug 405957 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** 1. Click Desktop Behavior 2. Click Look and Feel Result in previous text shown above *Look and Feel*. *** Bug 410073 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** The same happens when you go into 'account details', go back to '< all settings' and click on 'regional settings'. Or simply switch between (using the mouse-method descibed above): - account details - notifications - regional settings you'll end up with buggy descriptions in the headers (notifications e.g. displaying 'date & time' or 'user manager' or similar... quite funny, though :-) forgot to mention: comment #7 was tested with plasma 5.16.4 on fedora 30 using copr mkyral:plasma-unstable Created attachment 123384 [details]
plasma 5.17 - header of the previous kcm disappears when a setting is modified
This issue persists with Plasma 5.17. To reproduce...
open system settings in icon view mode
open "Shortcuts" kcm
click on "All settings" in the upper left corner
open any of the following KCMs:
global theme
plasma style
colors
icons
cursors
notifications
language
display configuration
audio
thunderbolt
The header of the previous KCM disappears when a settings is modified, see the attached screen recording please.
i can confirm comment #7 on plasma 5.17.0 Still 'funny' headers when switching between kcms (In reply to Patrick Silva from comment #9) > Created attachment 123384 [details] > plasma 5.17 - header of the previous kcm disappears when a setting is > modified > > This issue persists with Plasma 5.17. To reproduce... > > open system settings in icon view mode > open "Shortcuts" kcm > click on "All settings" in the upper left corner > open any of the following KCMs: > global theme > plasma style > colors > icons > cursors > notifications > language > display configuration > audio > thunderbolt > > The header of the previous KCM disappears when a settings is modified, see > the attached screen recording please. Looks like that's something wrong with the QML kcms. Caused by this commit: https://github.com/KDE/systemsettings/commit/a079df6a5e3faa2b03bcaee66f80acae89359cb8#diff-b3d1335f25bcd5bedd0981890173e9d3 *** Bug 415278 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** |
Created attachment 116212 [details] demonstration SUMMARY The behavior shown in my screencast can be observed with any new KCM (look and feel, icon, fonts, workspace and language). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. open system settings in icon view mode 2. open some of the new KCMs mentioned in my summary 3. back to all settings and open another KCM 4. back to all settings and open the KCM opened in the step 2 again OBSERVED RESULT after the step 4 the KCM has two titles: the correct title and the title of the "old" KCM opened in the step 3. Watch the screencast please. EXPECTED RESULT KCM only shows the correct title. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE neon Developer Edition KDE Plasma: 5.14.80 Qt: 5.11.2 KDE Frameworks: 5.52.0
