SUMMARY
Kdenlive 18.08.1 
save project is crashing kdeinit5

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open kdenlive
2. import clip or not 
3. save project

OBSERVED RESULT
kdeinit5 segementation fault,  but projectfile is saved
Application: kdeinit5 (kdeinit5), signal: Segmentation fault

EXPECTED RESULT
no kdeinit5 error

Just saw it also happening when i try to move multiple files, but not when i use a new user. So it seems to be in my profile ?

the backtrace shows the crash in mltpreview.so called from kio/thumbnail.so...
can you determine what kind of clip (video / title / ...) triggers the crash?

also, which ubuntu packages are you using: official or from PPA?
can you also try with latest release AppImage?

that is also happening when i want to open a file with empty clip bin without loading.  Just the open clip dialog triggers the bug. 

And its not only kdenlive, later i had the same error when i try to use more than one file with dolphin and direct after login.
so, i assume that is no specific kdenlive bug.  I had a machine upgrade from 16.04 to 18.04, something went wrong. Packages are Kde/Neon

thats weird. 
i can not repeat the move multiple file error with dolphin like yesterday, but i can repeat the kdenlive open clip dialog segfault every time.

 can i edit my comments here ?

AppImage is working without Segfault. 
I purged Kdenlive, reinstalled Kio, Kio extras. 
kdenlive still segfaulting. 

Dolphin "seems" fine and i have no segfault at login anymore.

close plz. seems like its working now, haven't seen a crash in the last days. 
Maybe some of the last updates fixed it.
