latte behavior on the left edge

SUMMARY
Latte dock appearing animation is played twice when the dock is located at the left screen edge.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Switch Latte dock position to the LEFT
2. Move the mouse to the left screen edge to open Latte Dock

OBSERVED RESULT
The dock appears, disappears and then appears again. (appearing animation played twice)


EXPECTED RESULT
The dock appears once

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I had the same issue on KDE Neon 16.04 and now after upgrading to 18.04 it is still happening.
This never happens with RIGHT, BOTTOM. The TOP located dock seems to be slightly affected as well.

you can reproduce this with plasma panels also... it is an upstream issue...
