DK 5.9.0

I'm trying to understand the image quality sorter. It has flags
5,000+ images as rejected. The vast, vast majority of the flagged
images are good to excellent: sharp, in focus, good exposure (subject
is a different story)

Thank you

Over exposure quality detection have been rewritten and pass unit test.

A new Under Exposure Quality detection algorithm have been also introduced while this re-coding.

Other algorithms still in pending re-write as current implementation do not pass the unit test.

So in config Quality pannel, only Exposure settings must be enabled for the moment.

Created attachment 154211 [details]
picture that should pass are marked as rejected

Run the image quality sorter on a small album and it marked photos as rejected that should have been marked at least medium/passed.

1. boring images, but it's a backhoe tractor
2. sky somewhat over exposed but that was on purpose (needed all the details in the tractor)

Thanks

Hi Justin,

Image Quality Sorter algorithm have been fully rewritten using IA processing in next 8.0.0, available as beta here :

https://files.kde.org/digikam/unstable/

Consider to install this version in a new account to process images from a test collections. Do not use it in production yet.
Also the 8.x database schema is changed compared to 7.x versions. Back to 7.x with a 8.x database will not work.

Best

Justin,

What's about this file using current 8.2.0 AppImage Linux bundle ? It's
reproducible ?

https://files.kde.org/digikam/

Note: bundle is now based on Qt 5.15.11 and KDE framework 5.110.

Thanks in advance
