Description tromzy 2018-09-28 07:52:03 UTC
Latte version 0.8.0 works fine on Plasma 5.14 beta on Arch Linux, but on my system, 0.8.1 does not launch at all. Fortunately I still had 0.8.0 in my pacman cache so I could downgrade. Both X11 and Wayland versions of Plasma make Latte crash.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use Latte 0.8.1 on Plasma 5.14 beta
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Latte does not launch

EXPECTED RESULT
Latte should launch

SOFTWARE VERSIONS
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.13.90
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.50
Qt Version: 5.11.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I tested Latte-git version and still no luck. Only 0.8.0 works.

1. Which distro are you using?
2. Are you building Latte by yourself?
3. Does that happen with default layout?
4. What is the crash report?
5. Have you tried to clear your Latte cache?
Comment 2 tromzy 2018-09-28 08:39:38 UTC
1. Archlinux
2. I use the distro official packages for 0.8.0 and 0.8.1, but I build the git version myself through AUR.
3. Yes ; I tried to erase all my profiles and start fresh ; I can see that a default "Single monitor.layout" file is created, but nothing happens on the desktop.
4. Where do I find it ? If I launch Latte through Konsole, I get no text at all ;
5. No, where is it ? All I cleared was the layout files in .config/latte.

if you are using Arch it is hard to get a meaningful crash report

.cache/lattedock

clearing the cache did it help?
