Latte-dock takes about 20% of CPU with disabled "zoom" effect, 55% with enabled "zoom" effect, I think it should be less.

KDE Neon user edition (Ubuntu 16.04 64bit)
Intel CPU/GPU i5 8th gen.

This would be possible only if you are a programmer and you can investigate the code in order to find a better way to improve parabolic effect consumption

this is a wishlist with no metrics and not patches to improve the situation...
in the current form is just with no reason. Latte is trying always to reduce its CPU cycles...
