When I connect an external display to my laptop (with a different resolution), it more or less works, but when I disconnect the display it either crashes the compositor dropping me to the sddm greeter, or else crashes the session requiring a hard reboot. The hard crash usually occurs when I have a number of windows open and the session has been up and running for a while.

Crashes need a backtrace in order to do anything useful, sorry.
