I have never seen the problem with the selection. The dialog is necessary, in the current version it is also displayed here, if the renaming failed. Also, the renaming in the current developer version has been greatly accelerated. Your digiKam version is already quite old, can you use a more recent digiKam version (digiKam-5.9.0)? Which Linux distribution do you use? Maik ubuntu 18.04, digikam from distro. I mean I do mass manual rename. So after renaming one file I want to rename next by pressing F2 again. And I mean the progress window should not be displayed if you doing rename only for one file (not the selection), not the rename dialog window, just progress. digiKam 7.0.0 stable release is now published: https://www.digikam.org/news/2020-07-19-7.0.0_release_announcement/ We need a fresh feedback on this file using this version. Best Regards Gilles Caulier Hi and happy new year, Can you check if problem remain with digiKam 7.5.0 pre-release bundle available here : https://files.kde.org/digikam/ Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier Correction, rename is F2. Maik I agree about the progress dialog used when a single file is renamed. In fact a progress bar in the advanced rename dialog must be used instead in all cases. for the other use-case to rename files, one by one, and to pas to the next item automatically, none file manager work like this.
