Just updated LUBUNTU from 17.10 to 18.04.1 LTS . Much to my surprise, KMYMONEY (language set to German, reports version 5.0.0 in Help|About although starting splash shows a big "4" in the right-hand side area) opens my .kmy file from the previous version without problem on my Windows share named smb://dg-server/norbert/Programme/KMyMoney/norbert.kmy, shows all entries, etc., but trying to save the modified file, an error is given as follows:

FEHLER - kmymoney
Änderungen können nicht in „/run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-share:server=dg-server,share=norbert/Programme/KMyMoney/norbert.kmy“ geschrieben werden

The critical part of that is - exiting KMyMoney WITHOUT saving leaves an EMPTY .kmy file with all entries gone!

Writing the .kmy file to the local file system works fine.

Note that other programs (e.g., LibreOffice 6.0) read from and write to that same very share without any issues.

- nothing follows -

Update 2018-08-27
Error is obviously not created by KMyMoney but by the fact that the share is mounted through gigolo/gvfs-mount which latter has been marked as "deprecated" in Ubuntu 18.04. When Windows share is mounted using mount cifs, KMyMoney works without problems.
Will close this case.
