While the File Indexer Monitor is viewable from KInfoCenter, and is not shown in the application menus, if you search for 'indexer monitor' (or something similar) from the alt+f2 krunner menu, it does show up, but when you click on it, it silently fails.

The culprit seems to be that kcm_fileindexermonitor.desktop contains the line: 

Exec=kcmshell5 kcm_fileindexer

and that KCM module does not exist - the correct name is "kcm_fileindexermonitor", so that line should be changed to:

Exec=kcmshell5 kcm_fileindexermonitor
