When installing a flatpak app, for example Riot from flathub, dependencies should be automatically installed with the program like the Flatpak CLI and GNOME Software, instead of continuing to install the application and rendering it unable to be opened/used.

The platform should be getting installed automatically, isn't it the case for you? Are you seeing any errors?

I couldn't replicate it again just now, but yes, when I originally installed Riot from flathub (through Discover) I had to manually install org.freedesktop.Platform using CLI.
