Description Unknown 2018-07-15 20:39:51 UTC
Trying to remote control the mouse caused KDE Plasma (Wayland session) to crash. The Keyboard doesn't work either but won't crash the session.

How to reproduce:
-Start a Plasma Wayland Session
-Open up the KDE Connect App on a paired android device
-Go to remote input
-Swipe in any direction
-Watch your Plasma session crashing, if you're lucky your display manager will appear, otherwise you will have to force restart your computer.

Arch Linux with KDE Plasma 5.13.3
Kde Connect 1.3.1-1 / Kde Connect App 1.8.4

Can confirm. Reassigning to kwin.
The relevant KDE Connect code is in https://cgit.kde.org/kdeconnect-kde.git/tree/plugins/mousepad/waylandremoteinput.cpp

Note for those trying to reproduce the problem:
On my Arch Linux host a gentle swipe is enough to make Kwin crash, and so was also on my Fedora 28 Vm. After installing the appropriate debug packages the issue strangely started to be harder to reproduce. A swipe wasn't enough, i had to repeatedly tap the screen in order to make kwin crash.
Comment 5 Martin Flöser 2018-07-20 18:12:33 UTC
Thanks for the backtrace
Comment 6 Unknown 2018-08-07 20:23:27 UTC
On Kde Plasma 5.13.4 it's not an issue anymore. The remote keyboard still doesn't work though.
Comment 7 Unknown 2018-08-08 11:41:33 UTC
UPDATE: Unfortunately it still happens from time to time. I will provide another backtrace as soon as i can reproduce the problem on my VM.
Comment 8 twinshadows404 2020-09-07 21:28:52 UTC
On plasma 5.19.5, KDE Connect App 1.14.2 I am unable to reproduce this.
Remote keyboard input is unavailable on Wayland.
Can this be closed since the keyboard input is a different bug?
