Weird. Seems like maybe a bug in Audacious itself? how would audacious even affect volume keys plasmoid behaviour? keys supposed to be controlled by the plasmoid all the time. if an app is able to override it, it in itself is a bug. Oh, i forgot one more thing, the plasmoid controls the volume of the app. not the app itself. there is "Applications" tab in the plasmoid, where you can control the volume for particular apps. That's what the keys start to control, when the app autostarts. so it's clearly the plasmoid fault. Do you see volume change notification (OSD) when this bug happens? when the bug happens, i don't see OSD, but i see the slider at the "Applications" tab of the plasmoid moving accordingly for audacious. Yes, that's correct. Or do you expect plasma-pa to show incorrect value when some application changes its volume? So what most likely happen here is that audacious steals volume shortcuts. And before you say that it shouldn't: plasmashell is just normal application (at least on X11) so if plasmashell can handle global shortcuts then any other application can and can prevent plasmashell from handling that shortcut. Would it make sense to at least launch plasma shell first, before reopening other apps from previous time? This way no one will be able to steal the global shortcuts. Also, in "global shortcuts" page of the shell settings, the Vol± keys are bound to the increase/decrease volume. Yet they don't work this way consistently. Is there any other way this can be solved? Report it to audacious, this has nothing to do with plasmashell/plasma-pa. |
