Description Andrew Shark 2018-07-07 07:53:42 UTC
When you try to connect Android device via mtp protocol, then go to your files and try to open some file, you get such error:

The process for the mtp protocol died unexpectedly.

But when you copy file to another location, for example to your home directory, then you can open copied file.
Here is video demonstration: https://youtu.be/CUuvfIObqY0

I suspect it may be because applications are trying to get write access (for example, change access time), but unable to do so, and fails.

As a workaround I think we could copy file to temporary directory and then open it with corresponding application while warning user that he/she is working with copy of file.

MTP protocol is not working at all in Dolphin!!

As workaround, please use different file manager. I am using nautilus to get the work done.
