Description Michał Dybczak 2018-06-15 23:00:01 UTC
Qt: 5.11.0
KDE Framework: 5.47.0
Plasma 5.13.0
OS: Manjaro
Kernel: 4.17

Expected behavior: Global menu in Firefox and Thunderbird work like in Neon Developer Preview.
Real behavior: No global menus for Firefox and Thunderbird

Steps to reproduce:
1. Have global menus in panel or titlebar.
2. Open Firefox or Thunderbird.

Reproducible: always.

Is it because of some missing package, some manual configuration is needed or maybe unity patch isn't working aside Ubuntu based distros? Or maybe something different?

Firefox does not support global menu, it is an Ubuntu specific patch.

Thanks Anotonio. This is what I feared. From talks here, devs weren't sure if it will work on other distros and it seems it doesn't.
I also checked my Neon vbox install (so regular neon instead developer preview), updated it and firefox/thunderbird menus work there as well, so all is well on ubuntu's side.

I guess we will have to wait for more general solution and that will probably take some time.

Thanks Antonio. I'll wait for it
