UPDATE: because of this issue I installed another distro (Solus), thinking it would solve the problem. However, the issue persists, so I suspect it is something specific to my laptop. Please close this issue. UPDATE 2: Since Solus didn't work as expected, I have now installed Elementary OS, and everything now works as expected. Thus there does seems to exist a Kde specific issue. Also, before I uninstalled Neon I noticed that it wasn't the action of login in to user X's account that caused the pc to suspend, but rather simply the switch back to user X's account: it would suspend after a few seconds, regardless if you login in or just stay at the login screen. (I have also attached a lshw dump of my hardware, fyi). Created attachment 113242 [details]
