Attempting to set the default web browser from the settings in Chrome or Chromium does nothing.

Selecting Google Chrome as the default web browser in System Settings also does not set the default browser properly.  Links from outside Chrome continue to open in Firefox.  

Running '$ sudo update-alternatives --config x-www-browser' and selecting Chrome corrected this.
