reproducible when "Rename inline" is checked in dolphin settings, "General" section

accesss a samba share
right click a file/folder, select "rename"
type a new name and press enter
Just renamed file/folder is not selected

Moving to kio. It seems the KCoreDirLister::completed signal is not emitted after renaming a remote URL (which results in DolphinView::updateViewState not being called).

On neon dev unstable the bug also affects local files located in a ntfs partition.
Files in my home are not affected.

Currently I can only reproduce with folders, but not consistently.
