the context menu on the "Required Participants" has a Copy Link option.
paste that link and you'll see it is of the form uid:XXXXXX instead of a mailto: 

note that the Copy Link for the Organizer is correctly a mailto:

the uid:XXXXXX format would be useful if we had a context menu option for "Add to Addressbook".  I thought we did have that once; anyway that's a different wish.
