This report is a follow up of this one https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365829

I tried again on an openSUSE Tumbleweed system with this versions:
Plasma Version 5.12.4
Frameworks 5.45.0
Qt 5.10.0

The Samba installation now works with a minor glitch. When the installation is tried the first time in a Dolphin instance, a password prompt is shown, which immediately results in a failure message. But in the background Samba really gets installed. See attached screenshot diagram.

Are you able to reproduce this? It's working perfectly for me. You can remove the `samba` package and re-open the window to try again.
Comment 2 Gregor Mi 2019-06-02 10:03:38 UTC
"The Samba package failed to install" message is still shown when following these steps:
1. Dolphin was closed
2. samba package was removed
3. Dolphin is opened
4. Click the "Install Samba..." button
5a. (message is shown)
5b. "Authentication Required" dialog is shown

Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20190508
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.57.0
Qt Version: 5.12.3
Kernel Version: 5.0.11-1-default
OS Type: 64-bit
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2019-06-02 20:43:24 UTC
Any chance you could test with Frameworks 5.59? It was just tagged and should be coming out in a few days. Presumably Tumbleweed will offer it to you soon thereafter. I ask because I reworked this code in 5.59 and it would be nice to see if it fixes your issue!
