if I try to render I get following message

melt:
This application failed to start. It could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "Windows", in ""

Available platform plugins, are minimal, offscreen, windows

Reinstall the application may fix this this problem.

o.k. sent the runtime error of melt.exe

files are there, but coudn't find I think. Looks like the same files as in V17 but doesn't work anymore.

If you used a previous windows version, Kdenlive might try to access the old melt. Can you go to Settings > environment and check that all paths points to the correct directory in your 18.04 version

I used the zip version, therefore I think there is no windows path setting, right? Where can I found the settings in Kdenlive? Is there a confit file?

As I mentionned, go in kdenlive' Settings menu > Configure Kdenlive
There is a page called Environnment where the path to melt and melt profiles are defined. Try changing them to the path where you unzipped Kdenlive
