Description Kayra Akman 2018-05-01 10:19:43 UTC
The Contents sidebar of KHelpCenter respects the double-clik-to-open-files setting in Input Devices > Mouse Controls. It shouldn't.

Although, I assume, help documentation is made up of HTML files, KHelpCenter is not a file manager. Users should always browse through help content in Contents' tree view via single clicking. System Settings' navigation sidebar doesn't respect double-click setting, neither should KHelpCenter.

The contents sidebar is closer to a tree-view, which follows the single/double-click settings. Also systemsettings provides one.
Yes, it could be made more tree-view like to make it less confusing, and/or an alternative view (like systemsettings) which follow that behavior could be created. I disagree that the current request, in its current form, should be implemented.

KInfoCenter's navigation sidebar is also a tree-view but doesn't respect that setting. Also System Setting's tree-view mode for navigation sidebar ignores that setting. KInfoCenter is the outlier here.

I meant KHelpCenter.

System Settings's tree-view expands only on double click if you set double click.
Comment 5 Luigi Toscano 2018-05-01 13:18:45 UTC
Anyway, let my recheck the code.

I had meant the leaf items in System Settings. Non-leaf items expand with double-click but show leaf items in the main view as well.

I expect leaf items in KHelpCenter to ignore the double-click setting.
