That sounds useful, but doesn't really fit into the design of KDE Connect: it currently only provides features once connected. Do you have any information about how WakeOnLAN works, and how do you imagine you'd access this feature from a (future) user interface? If you can provide the information requested in comment #1, please add it. To further investigate this issue, KDE developers need the information requested in comment #1. If you can provide it, or need help with finding that information, please add a comment. First aof all I would need to connect my devices lets say my PC with my smartphone. While pairing KDE Connect (app side)would save the MAC adress from my network card and could provide me later on with a list of all devices I had it connected to at least once and also show me if they are reachable (ping) or not. If they are not we could assume that those devices are offline and if their last known ip adress belong to our current network an option would become available "wakeup" which then would send a magic packet (therefore the MAC adress needs to be known) to the network and wakeup the device if available and supported. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wake-on-LAN Let me know if further informations are required. Thanks for the update; changing status. I'd like to chime in on this feature request. It would be nice to have all of these "Smart home" functionalities in the same location. Currently I have to use an app specifically made to send a Wake on Lan request from my phone. My suggestion would be to have "Wake on Lan" menu option behind the hamburger button which brings up all the remembered devices. Dedicated app in question that I use: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.uk.mrwebb.wakeonlan Hello, I warmly second this feature request. Since both kdeconnect and wakeonlan require the devices being under the same LAN, it sounds a very reasonable feature. Once association with PC is done (and MAC address is recorded), a big button "try to wake this device" should appear below the info note "this device is not available". *** This bug has been confirmed by popular vote. *** |
