Do you get this crash consistently? Can you update your packages and check?
I cannot reproduce this on Arch Linux (Dolphin 18.04.0 and Qt 5.10.1).

I tried to duplicate just now and the issue did not reoccur - video preview played as expected.

So not consistent.

extra/dolphin 18.04.0-1 (kde-applications kdebase) [installed: 17.12.3-1]
