directly after the upgrade to frameworks 5.45.0 plasmashell can't suspend anymore.
- system: Dell Lattittude e5500 - I have to use the i8kutils to make it work correctly but I never had problems with suspension before. Furthermore I dual-boot plasmashell with ubuntu 18.04. On that system I use exactly the same configuration of the i8kutils and ubuntu has no problems with suspension
- bios and kernel: on ubuntu 18.04 (dual-boot) I use exactly the same kernel as on my neon system (user edition) and ubuntu suspends correctly

I installed Kubuntu 18.04 on an other partition and that too can't go into suspension. My other kde system is Neon user edition.

You already reported this as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393361. No need to report the same issue twice.
Comment 3 PK 2018-04-21 22:28:17 UTC
You are right. I reported it twice by accident. The first time after I confirmed the text went below the visible area of the screen and I thought it was lost. My mistake..
I went on searching and I got more and more convinced that this bug is caused by the whole i8kutils/smm thing that this dell needs.
I will keep on looking but I am almost sure this is not a kde bug.
Thank you for your reaction.
