I downloaded a file using chromium ,the KDialog popped up and and I accidentally clicked on an existing file,therefore the downloaded file changed to the selected file , then when i downloaded the old file was overridden.

KDialog isn't doing the downloading - this is a chromium issue.

I get an "Overwrite?" dialog when selecting an existing file name. To test:

kdialog --getsavefilename ~/
