Package: dcopserver
Version: KDE 2.2.1
Severity: normal
Installed from: Solaris Packages
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Solaris
OS/Compiler notes: Solaris 8 4/01

KDE starts up and runs fine for awhile. Then the dcopserver program just stops working. I still see it as a process but none of the applications will start. The same problem existed in the 2.1 series but a restart of the Xsun process would fix it. Now in 2.2.1 the machine has to be rebooted for the dcopserver to work again. When you try to log in after the server has gone down in the 2.2.1 series you get the error host based authenticaion failed. I tried to remove all the temporary files but this had no affect. I use 2.2.1 on an intel machine at home and have had none of these problems. But here at work the Suns have troubles.

dcopserver/KDE 3.1.x runs fine under Solaris 8 02/02 and 05/03.
