Description Stefan Vater 2018-03-29 05:46:40 UTC
When I try to create a new investment and after filling the form for it, I get the error "Nicht in der Lage, alle Objekte für Investitionen zu erstellen" ("not able to create all objects for investments", my translation). The details show "Stock account cannot be parent account caugt in /home/abuild/rpmbuild/BUILD/kmymoney-5.0.1/kmymoney/mymoney/mymoneyfile.cpp:1059"
Comment 1 Danny Scott 2018-03-29 10:30:59 UTC
I encountered this yesterday in the investments tab. I then entered the stock name in the ledger editor and it prompted me to create it using the same dialog used in the investment tab and that worked so you should be able to use this method as a work around for now.

Great, that workaround works also for me! However, the original problem
persists.
Comment 3 Joshua Christopher 2018-06-19 03:39:46 UTC
I am having this exact same issue. I am also having an issue with the workaround, see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=328280.

Error message:
"Unable to create all objects for the investment"

Details:
"Stock account cannot be parent account caugt in /workspace/build/kmymoney/mymoney/mymoneyfile.cpp:1059"

I'm sorry, I linked to the wrong bug in the previous post. The bug regarding the workaround is: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395591

I encountered this same bug today on Kmm 5.0.1-1 on Arch Linux. I get "not able to create all objects the investment" in English when adding via the investments tab. Thanks to Danny Scott here for the workaround which also works for me.

Bad bug which should get more priority.
Comment 6 Thomas Baumgart 2018-08-19 13:32:17 UTC
It was fixed somehow in the course with bug 394394 and is not reproducible on master anymore. So I close it as fixed here.
