Description acc4commissions 2018-03-23 15:45:31 UTC
Ver : nightly (git 981497f)

To reproduce : Just try to
1 switch the colorize mask editing tool(brush) to eraser mode
2 press 'Preserve Alpha' button on toolbar
3 press 'Reload original preset' button on toolbar
for the first time. All of them don't work.

It starts to work again after selecting another tool and re-select, Or after operating any layer functions of the colorize mask layer.

Thanks.

Can you explain what you are trying to do. Where are you reading on how to use the Colorize mask tool? I don't remember any of the guides explaining to use it like this

Oh, sorry! First I assumed that 'eraser mode' of Colorize Mask Editing Tool is supposed to work (by pressing E or pressing the button on toolbar) to erase keystrokes. Because it is... basically a brush. And I noticed it doesn't work when I do that for the first time. It worked after re-selecting the tool itself.

And I just tested another functions besides 'eraser mode' that are probably having the same problem. Those were 'Preserve Alpha', 'Reload original preset', although those don't necessarily have to work to use Colorize Mask.

Am I misunderstanding something? I'm really sorry if I am. :/

Ahh, no. The eraser tool does not work on a colorize mask tool. The colorize mask tool is a very specialized tool. It only works if you use it a certain way as described by the documentation..

https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_manual/tools/colorize_mask.html?highlight=colorize

If you start doing things outside of that workflow it might have issues like you are bringing up. If there is something you are wanting it to do. File a new feature request ticket. Right now we only expect it to work with a certain workflow.
