Ok, so either hover the empty desktop then try to scroll with the touchpad to switch desktops or hover the pager widget. I have to be very careful not to scroll from first dekstop to the 3rd or 4th just by a little, gentle touch.

This is another bug entry in reference of: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388353

I can't reproduce this on my system. These kinds of problems can be device-specific. The Pager currently uses the same wheel delta accumulation logic we use all over Plasma (e.g. also in the Task Manager applet), so it's not a trivial change.

Actually I never liked the scroll through things in the task manager. I activated it and tried with my touchpad and... yeah is really fast. I have to move my finger really little to move by one item. If I try more than that I move around wildly. Actually doing a quite nice scroll down is almost fun :)

Also I am not sure if it is a wide problem. It doesn't happen in everything. For example in the System Settings, adding widgets, notification list, changing the volume...

In case it helps here is my laptop: https://github.com/RaitaroH/DELL-Inspiron-Gaming-7567
I only installed the nvidia drivers (proprietary from ppa).
I do have libinput-gestures BUT if I stop the process the problem is still there so is not it either.

Here is what the developer of the event calendar said:
https://github.com/Zren/plasma-applet-eventcalendar/issues/4#issuecomment-372145550

Maybe it can help. It seems it is a QT bug.

This is a long term problem. I still have it in kubuntu 18.04. It scrolls so fast it makes me dizzy as desktops careen across the screen. I would turn it off if I could - without losing scrolling everywhere else.

This is not just an inconvenience/annoyance. It's an accessibility issue as well.
