Description boonhead.nl 2018-02-26 04:33:08 UTC
When moving mouse to bottom left of the screen to open the application menu, the application menu frequently fails to respond.

This is not because of faulty code, it is simply because the panel has a non-clickable area 1 pixel wide both left and right.

Because of this, a user is unable to rely on his/her mouse ending up on top the button for the application menu when trying to operate the system quickly.

This causes users to go through a user experience loop of:
* Waiting for the system to respond.
* Clicking a few times more.
* After 2 seconds realizing 'the mistake' (you made before).
* Quickly correcting the mistake in such a way that you even forget it ever happend (until it happens again :D)

I initially classified this bug as 'minor', but changed it back to 'normal' since the application menu button is pretty central to using the system; some users might experience this problem a lot, but it all depends on how you 'move' as a user.

Turn off your KWin left touch screen edge, which is causing this. See the duplicate big for details.

Thank you Nate. This worked for me.
Sorry for posting duplicate. I did not find similar bugs using the words I used.
Cheers!

It's no problem at all. In fact, more duplicates may help convince the KWin maintainer that this is a serious problem.
