Description haarman 2018-02-22 09:48:39 UTC
Be able to specify the update interval of an individual feed in seconds.
Comment 1 Laurent Montel 2018-02-22 12:09:35 UTC
it's possible no ?
feed property -> General -> use a custom update interval
Comment 2 haarman 2018-02-22 12:17:50 UTC
I can only select 'Minutes, Hours, Days, Never' there. (version 5.2.3)

If seconds can be added it be nice (with high values possible)

thx

By the way: not sure how the feeds are downloaded but a first interval and follow up interval would be nice. (so that if you have 10 feeds and you can set the interval on 10 minutes but the initial interval on 0-9 so each minute one feed is downloaded).

Some worry that a 10 minute interval is server abuse, and you need seconds? Why?

See my previous comment. I wanted to set different timings so to achieve that the feeds get updated spread over the interval. (So it could be set to minimal 50 seconds or so to to prevent overloading but I suppose that a server returns a 304 when nothing changed so it does not really cause a high load.)

So an initial interval and follow up would be best I suppose.

Under 1 minute is definitely abusing the resources of the host. If you need down to the second news I suggest something other than RSS, it's not really designed for this type of use.
