We already have controls and am interface for controlling the volume and play controls of anything using MPRIS. There are many times when we're using an app that isn't MPRIS where it would still be nice to change the volume by adjusting the global volume, or to pause/play/mute/skip via the shortcuts defined in kde.

It would be great if in the drop-down of various MPRIS enabled apps in the Android app, if there was also an "app" listed called "global" or similar. With global selected, adjusting the volume slider would adjust KDE's global volume and pressing play/pause/next track/previous track buttons would trigger the matching global shortcut defined in KDE's global shortcuts.

This way we could adjust the volume of music from web browsers that don't use mpris (via the global volume) and pause/play/skip tracks in apps that use the global shortcuts, but not necessarily mpris.

Of all of these things, I consider the global volume adjustment the most important. If it helps, I could do a very clear mock-up of a UI that matches what's already in the kdeconnect app.

Something like that is in progress here: https://phabricator.kde.org/D7993

It might still take a while, though.
