Description David 2018-02-13 19:44:56 UTC
If I change the volume of the notification sounds (systemsettings5 -> Multimedia -> Audio Volume -> Applications -> Notification Sounds), notifications still keep appearing with maximum volume sounds all the time, which is very annoying if you use all other applications at a lower volume.
Comment 1 David Rosca 2018-02-13 19:53:08 UTC
It only works with gstreamer and vlc (with libvlc 3.0) phonon backends.
Comment 2 Nate Graham 2018-02-14 17:53:49 UTC
David, what backend are you using? VLC prior to version 3?
Comment 3 David 2018-02-14 21:59:23 UTC
I'm using Phonon VLC backend. I have libvlc 3.0.1 installed (libvlc-bin, libvlc-dev, libvlc5, libvlccore9), although in the settings (Multimedia -> Audio and Video -> Backend) it says Phonon VLC 0.9.1.
Comment 4 Nate Graham 2018-02-14 22:02:48 UTC

...Other david, any ideas?
Comment 5 David Rosca 2018-02-15 11:15:25 UTC
Try with phonon-gstreamer
Comment 6 David 2018-02-15 19:58:37 UTC
Funny, now with Phonon Gstreamer I get no notification sounds at all, regardless of what I put in the settings.

I had the same problem some time ago.
