using tzupdate to set the timezone based on my ip , but the time in the clock doesn't change.

the widget is in the taskbar and it is set to show the local timezone.
Can you please try to replicate and I can provide more info if needed.

tzupdate isn't a standard command, so can't reproduce. 

I can have questions though :)
Can you attach your ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc

output of
"ls -l   /etc/localtime"


is the time correct itself after restarting plasma?

you can replicate it by manually changing the time zone form the "Adjust Time and Date" gui

and yes after resarting KDE the Clock shows the correct time.

Please try to replicate and if you still can't I will send you the other info you need.

this shouldn't be there.

Open the digital clock settings -> timezones
search for london. You'll see two entries.

One says "region Local" "Your system timezone"
the other says "Europe/United Kingdom"

Select the first one. This was the default, you must have changed it at some point.

Please reopen if there's still an issue.
