I have a larger (~80K messages) GMail account that I can no longer access successfully with KMail. It seems to time out of retrieving almost all folders. One will occasionally succeed, but then fail on the next attempt.

The core of the problem seems related to messages like "cannot start handshake on
non-plain connection". Using akonadiconsole to restart the problem accounts will allow it to try again, but the behaviour is quite consistent. Other GMail accounts work. This account fails in KMail/Akonadi on two different machines. The account work fine in Thunderbird.

The account in question uses Google's 2FA, but the same problem occurs when using the less secure pre-generated key.

After the retrieval attempts time out, an akonadictl fsck/vacuum shows lots of errors as well, if that helps.

Please let me know what other information and steps could help resolve this.
