Would it make sense to make it instead a category? Something like "Best Apps" within Applications? I don't think we want to have hundreds of elements the first page. Not sure we'd want to say "Best apps" since that implies editorial review, which this obviously isn't about. I agree that hundreds of apps on the Featured page would be too many. Maybe we could show, say, the 5 or 10 most recently updated apps from among the list of apps with best-in-class Appstream metadata? Do we still want some of this? I think appstream information has improved over the years... Yeah, I think it's probably unnecessary now, and would in practice end up penalizing distros more than apps. |
